The purpose behind the establishment of this Blog is to create a forum whereby I can keep up with my freinds and family during my deployment to Africa. Most of those who fall into the “friends category are Civil War Reenactors, probably affiliated with the Texas-Brigade out of Southeast Texas and the 1st Texas Infantry Co. L out of Hampton Roads Old Virginny. Family, of course you know who you are. I actually have the audacity to think that my family and friends actually care about what I am doing in my day job. Well, not really… but it does give a mighty fine excuse to vent my copious quantities of sarcasm, obstinance and opinion and you know I am just chock full of that. According to my Bride that is why my eyes are brown. I wonder what she means by that? I find I need to vent a lot, especially since I am part of the worlds finest navy so stand by for heavy weather. Those of you who know me know I have an “unhealthy” obsession with history, but on the other side of that coin I am often completely oblivious of the history of the future. I am trying to pay more attention to the things of the present that will be the history of tomorrow. While I am certainly not so arrogant as to believe anything I do on my African Sojourn will amount to anything so grand as history I think someday my little ones may be interested in why Dad was gone that time.
