Hardtack and Havoc

A private of the 1st Texas Volunteer Infantry Civil War Reenactor with a day job in Uncle Sugar's Navy trapped in the unholy land of New England...I wish I was still in Iraq.

One Mind Any Weapon

I foolishly started the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program this morning. I figured other than here where else would I get the opportunity to do something like this. This program, like regular martial arts which stress discipline and strength of character, also emphasizes getting up close and personal with your opponent and killing them by any means possible. The program motto is "One Mind, Any Weapon". The first session was brutal. They are going to break me like a dry, dead twig. Only 9 more days and I can test for the first level. I had to lower bar for the measure of success though. I know longer think in terms of successfully completing the program. My goal is now not to die in the course of the program. Oh well, it builds character, I will be a better man for it, my Bride digs scars, whatever I gotta tell myself to get through it.

TO THE TYRANT NEVER YIELD
