Hardtack and Havoc

A private of the 1st Texas Volunteer Infantry Civil War Reenactor with a day job in Uncle Sugar's Navy trapped in the unholy land of New England...I wish I was still in Iraq.

I Had To Build An Ark

It rained, rained, rained some more then it really began to rain with thunder boomers and the sides of the tent blowing up. Then by about 0230 the rain quit kidding around and really came down. Got up and found most of the tents in my section under water. Our gym became the aquatic exercise center with 3 inches of water and mud all over it. My tent was high and dry by a couple of inches thankfully, but going anywhere meant wading through knee deep water. The water re-supply point was inaccessible so we went on water restriction. Water, water everywhere but not one darn drop in the shower. I am still horribly sick and now I stink. My Bride says I "act like a petulant little brat" when I am sick. Must be true 'cause my troops have about had enough of me. Their new boss is in which is really cool. More importantly, my FITREP is signed. For those who don't know what that means, this little tableau should graphically enlighten you to the gloriousness of the bulletproofness of my resultant condition:

Anybody who bothers me: Sir I need......
Me: WHAT PART OF "MY FITREP IS SIGNED" DO YOU FAIL TO UNDERSTAND!

Not really. I will always do what I can to help anyone who needs it. I find people seem to need A LOT of help.

TO THE TYRANT NEVER YIELD
