Hardtack and Havoc

A private of the 1st Texas Volunteer Infantry Civil War Reenactor with a day job in Uncle Sugar's Navy trapped in the unholy land of New England...I wish I was still in Iraq.

Got Orders?......Yep

Finally got my orders today. It is now 14 July and my new command wants me there on or about 03 August. Ordinarily I would say pack sand I'll get there by the NLT date allowing for the standard thirty days leave enroute. However, the guy I am relieving has really got to go. He starts Grad School in a couple of weeks and I would not dream of holding him up. So that means I need to be there to turn over in about two weeks and I have no household goods move set up, no school plans for the tailless monkeys, no place to live, no one to rent my house here and unfinished home improvement projects ongoing. Par for the course when you work for the Navy (The Marine motto is "Always Faithful", the Navy motto is "Screw You!". It kinda goes hand in hand with the Navy's choice of mascot...the Scapegoat.), not even a challenge. One thing that I have learned in my service to Uncle Sugars Navy is to expect for the worst and pray for the best, that way you'll never be disappointed. Reckon it's time to start planning this northern migration, I'd better buy a coat.

TO THE TYRANT NEVER YIELD
