Hardtack and Havoc

A private of the 1st Texas Volunteer Infantry Civil War Reenactor with a day job in Uncle Sugar's Navy trapped in the unholy land of New England...I wish I was still in Iraq.

Pilgrim On A Good Day

My fears were not realized and for that, I am very grateful. I did not relish the idea of a person such as Mr. Kerry as my CinC. I would have seriously contemplated my continued service in Uncle Sugar's Navy. I do not say that lightly, as I have much of my life invested and hold my commission and the duty that it entails very seriously. Never-the less, if Mr. Kerry had been elected the draw of my future cattle ranch in Texas might very well have enticed me away.

One truth holds true though. As I look at the big chunk o'blue in the northeast corner of this map:

I realize that me and mine are pilgrim's in an unholy land.

TO THE TYRANT NEVER YIELD

Believe it or not, I thought of you and your family when the returns were coming in.

I too am glad it's over. Glad (understatement) for the results. And your's is not the first place I've heard where someone currently serving our country would have had to make a tough decision if the vote went the other way.

So...we can all exhale and regroup. :)
