Polar Express

My Bride and I took Chaos, Mayhem and Entropy to see a special screening of "The Polar Express" presented by the base theater this evening. It was OUTSTANDING! I had no doubt that Chaos would enjoy it. Being Eight he can easily sit through a movie but I had serious doubts about Mayhem and Entropy's attention span. Going to the movies, or anything as a family, generally degenerates into my Bride on the verge of emotional collapse and and extremely annoyed me trying to wrangle a herd of hyperactive tailless monkeys. Generally doesn't work out to well. This time however the all three of my forces of nature were mesmerized in rapt attention. Mayhem sat on the edge of his seat, mouth wide open catchin' flies for the whole of the film. Entropy sat on my lap and periodically screeched "Train Daddy! Train!". Doubly amazing considering the theater was a packed madhouse full of little tailless monkey bouncing off the walls. For once mine were not the epicenter of destruction. The Polar Express definitely received Dad's highest film rating:

OH MY GOOD LORD...I ACTUALLY GOT TO SEE THE MOVIE!

When this movie opens at a theater near you, I highly recommend it....Even if you have to take the kids.

I just did see something about that on T.V. and wondered if it was any good. Thanks for the review. I may have to go out and borrow some of my friends kids so I can check that one out. ;-)
