Government Healthcare II

Lordy but can my Bride talk alot or what.....Well write a lot......Well it's her voice I hear in my head when I read it, so she can sure talk or what.  I just want to amplify my Brides previously posted sentiments on the crapiness of government sponsored healthcare.  Yesterday I went to the clinic to pick up a refill of my Brides medication (popping out my issue left her a little weak in the thyroid department and she is a hell of a lot less ornery when she takes her medicine).  I have been picking up her refills for years since I work on base and the clinic is on base.  It just kinda makes sense (hmmmm....That maybe my mistake.  I failed to apply the Navy common sense check.....If it makes sense, that ain't the Navy way) since we live 20 miles outside the wire.  The only time I haven't picked her meds up for her is when I was off on my African Sojourn.  I mosied on over to the clinic on my way home yesterday, made a B-line to the pharmacy refill window, presented my ID and told the Sailor behind the counter that I was here to pick up my Brides refill.

ME:  I would like to pick up a refill for my Bride please
HN:  Do you have her ID or a copy of it?
ME:  No, but I've got mine?
HN:  We can't use that
ME:  HUH?
HN:  Federal law passed April 03 requir.......
ME (interupting and feeling that old spark of rage):  So you've been breaking the law for over a year now?
HN (Getting that look Sailors get when an officer snaps at you for no good reason):  Sir, I can't speak to that......
ME (realizing that I am about to be a jerk and reigning myself in):  Nevermind, it was just a question

I have been thinking about why I was so quick to anger.  I think the reason is that I expect to be jerked around when I deal with the military healthcare system.  It wasn't the Sailors fault, she was just trying to do her job as she understood it.  It is unfortunate that the average HM, nurse, doctor of MSC bubba understanding of their job completely ignores a customer service component.  I walked through those  doors with my temper already at half-cock simply because the only faith I had in the system was the sure and certain belief that the system would screw me.  That pretty much sums up how I feel about the military healthcare system, or for that matter any government run enterprise, as a whole.
