Got My Dander Up!

I was minding my business driving my mighty velociped to my oh so fullfilling job this morning and I heard something on the radio that down right pissed me off. I shoulda expected to be pissed off cuz I was listening to NPR after all, but this report really touched a nerve. The article was about equiping the military and more specifically, the armor question that was directed to Secretary Rumsfeld by a young Army Specialist. The part that raised my hackles was a sound bite from the "honorable" Mzzzz Pelosi of California calling for Rumsfeld's resignation because he hadn't properly equiped the Military. As a military logistician I know well the hurdles and pitfalls involved with supplying the operating forces. I have also worked far enough on the back end of the spear to know that almost all the hurdles are designed and put in place by the laws generated by Congress. Some of these were put in place deliberately to maintain the Congress' micro micro really micro management of the treasury, others are the offspring from the law of unintended consequence. The unavoidable fact remains that THE BUCK STARTS AND STOPS WITH THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES WHEN IT COMES TO EQUIPING OUR MILITARY......IT'S YOUR FAULT MZZZZZ PELOSI....NOW GET OFF YOUR FAT PORK BLOATED ASS AND FIX IT!
