I'm Baaaack!

Well at least I reported home with the appropriate pasty white, faint radioactive glow, submariner's tan. Lord knows if I had dared returned from the Bahamas with a tan I would have been summarily executed on the spot! It wasn't actually a pleasure trip after all and I was only in the Bahamas long enough to meet the Life Sucking Black Pig. On the return trip I was only on the island long enough to catch the next flight off, so it really wasn't like I went to the Bahamas. Actually, on the flight in, there I was riding a little puddle jumper from West Palm to the islands and it suddenly occurs to me....Hey were flying right into the Bermuda Triangle....WTF over! Obviously, I was not sucked up by some weired space time anomaly....Or was I....Hmmm, it boggles them mind. Well, my ride went extremely well, mission accomplished. Chalk one up for the good guys and all that crap. The boat was so stuffed with riders (all of us there to help of course. After all we were from the cognizant immediate superior in command and all) that as an O4 I was berthed in the forward crews berthing. I don't think I have actually been in the forward kennel before. It was more comfortable than the Iron Cross in the nine man. At least I could get in my rack without needing to dislocate a major joint or two. Overall, it was a very good ride! Unfortunately, I lost the zip off legs to the only Civvy pants I brought and had to return to the frickin' frigid north in shorts. That and all my luggage (including me) reeked of boat and it was questionable whether my Bride was gonna actually let me in the house until I was hosed off. The issue was in doubt until I was able to convince her it was too difficult to find a garden hose...THAT AND IT WAS LIKE 15 DEGREES OUTSIDE. She did, however, make me strip down but naked in the mud room and go straight to the shower. She has never enjoyed the scent of boat. I can tell she loves me!!!!! If she didn't she woulda turned garden hose on me and made me role the stink off in the snow!
