And It Began

This day in 1836 a small diverse band of citizen and regular soldiers, each with different personal motivation, united in the common goal of establishing the free and sovereign Republic of Texas, looked out over the low, crumbling adobe walls of their garrison and saw the bright lances and guidons that heralded the arrival of Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna's Mexican Army. They were standing upon the cross roads of destiny and the threshold of immortality. The siege of Alamo had begun.
