Victory or Death

On April 6th 1865 the lead elements of Grants' federal Army caught up to the rear guard of the retreating Army of Virginia. In the action that ensued Early's Corps, 1/3 of the Army, was essentially wiped out. Despite having no food in over 3 days and fighting a constant rear guard action, the race to the Blue Ridge Mountains continued
