I had to make the supreme sacrifice and sit through another command policy board today. These are very painful, it's like driving a blunt nail into your skull very slowly. You take representatives from all the commands and staff section and go through the commands policies line by stinking, brain cell killing, line and make recommendations for changes. While we were arguing over some such policy which I can't even remember, someone mentioned the uniform policy and things just got crazy. Two of the three commands here want to change the summer uniform policy so that they can were shorts, boots and t-shirts as the uniform of the day. Yes one of them was the Special Operations task force. Go figure huh! I don't think the secret squirrels ever wear an actual uniform. Suprisingly the other command is straight USMC and usually those boys are pretty uptight about "uniform modifications". The discussion that ensued went something like this:

Member 1: Shorts and T-shirts, that pretty stupid
Member 2: Stupid why, what would you do.
Member 3: Sergeant Major we should just wear DCUs. It's a combat zone wear the combat uniform
Member 4: Yeah, there no way that MARCENT would buy of on that
Member 2: It' not MARCENT policy it's ours!
Member 5: How 'bout Man Skirts for everyone (Yeah, that was me causing trouble. I just couldn't resist)
Multiple Members: Cool, Yeah Man Skirts and boots!
Member 6: I bet we could even get some brown or even DCU pattern ones!
Member 7(A Female Marine no less): No, No, NO! Screw that! SPEEDO's AND BOOTS!

Meeting is completely out of control by this point

Member 3: You have to write in the policy that you stuff the potato in front!
Member 2: I don't need no *expletive deleted* POTATO!
Member 8: No Freakin way! The Air Force just implemented the new PT policy, we ain't gonna do that!

I still can't remember what policies we were supposed to discuss, but I do know it wasn't the uniform policy!
