Home

Haven't posted in a while cause I have been enroute HOME! Woohoo! Even homeward bound the crazy bureaucratic nonsense continues. I still have not completed the mission. The last step of the deployment process is the go back to CRC and turn in all the Army's "deuce gear" and weapon. Military air only gets you to a point of entry in the continental U.S. usually Baltimore International. I managed to catch a the AMC "Patriot Express" that put down in Norfolk VA which is home. I figured I could spend at least on night in my own bed and be with my Bride and little ones before I went back to Fort Benning for gear issue. I got in bright and early Sunday morning spent a wonderful day with my family. First thing Monday morning I reported to the SATO government travel office to arrange transport to Benning and back to finish this thing up. The GS behind the counter promptly informed me that their was nothing they could do for me 'cause my orders, the way they were written, expired the moment my happy little butt arrived in Tidewater. WTF over. I had to go back to my parent command and have them cut another set of orders for me to wrap this thing up. This morning I reported to the airport to make the trip to GA. Didn't even make it passed the mighty TSA. I managed to loose the key to lock on the bag containing my sidearm and the keys to my pistol box. I didn't think it would be a big deal 'cause it was all locked up and secured from the flight from overseas. By God, if it was not possible to get to the pistol they certainly wouldn't allow it on the airplane! That makes no sense. You would think the TSA would want weapons as inaccessible as possible. I had to reschedule my flight out so I could get some bolt cutters and free my side arm. Sheeeez, everythings gotta be so difficult! Don't these people understand I have been taking mefloquine for six freakin' months. I could snap at anytime! I just want to get the Army's monkey off my back. Is that too much to ask?

TO THE TYRANT NEVER YIELD
