Time To Make A National Gut Check

What has happened to America? Have all persons of faith and conscience disappeared? Where is the strength, fortitude and character that built this nation? Wake up people! This nation is at war and it is not going away just because you don't want to be bothered with it. World War IV started in the 1980's but we were just too shallow to realize it, and then it came home, past our doorstep and smack into our living room in 2001. Still we are too shallow or too dense to realize we are at WAR! They have attacked our people and our nation over and over again. What is our response? Call the police and whimper like yapper dogs to the U.N.! Jackson understood! Where are Americans such as he when we need them? If you fail to grasp this concept, if you fail to rise to meet the assault, if you fail to understand the futility of appeasement then you deserve to have your head sawed slowly off with a knife! Mr. Berg deserved better than his fate. He understood what had to be done and tried to do the right thing to the best of his ability. His fate was decided for him by the brutality of the enemy and the WEAKNESS OF THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION. What the Islamic terrorists did to Nick Berg they want to do to YOU. They want to kill and/or subjugate you. Only by a trick of time and space it was Mr. Berg they had opportunity to slaughter. Next time it may very well be you. If not, it won't be from lack of effort on the enemy's part. The enemy takes comfort in your sloth and apathy! Would Americans of 50 years ago stand by apathetic to the assaults of communism? Would Americans of 60 years ago stand by apathetic to the assaults of NAZI fascism and Japanese Imperialism? Would Americans of 90 years ago stand by apathetic to the assaults of Mexican banditry? Would Americans of 145 years ago stand by apathetic to the deprivations of a tyrannical government? Would the Americans of 229 years ago stand by apathetic it the deprivations of a tyrannical overseas government? Not only NO BUT HELL NO! Why then are the American people so content to stand by apathetic to the assaults and deprivations of Islamic fascism and trans-national terrorism? Since my return from the CENTCOM AOR I am too disgusted to even listen to the news. It is nothing but the self-important ignorant feeding into the fears of the foolish! Listening to the talking heads you would think America started this war (I MEAN WAR IN THE SINGULAR BECAUSE IT IS ONLY ONE WAR FOUGHT IN MANY THEATERS INCLUDING THE U.S. ON A GLOBAL SCALE)!

WOOHOO! Give'm hell Johnny Reb! I'm right there with ya. If these people want war, then it's war they should get. Total, complete, and without adulteration. Give them war in Jackson fashion if ya like...I would prefer Sherman fashion myself. ;)
I think I'm gonna like this blog. I've often compared this fight, and the American political debate surrounding it, to our chosen era of study(1848-1880 or thera'bouts). It's just as critical and the two sides(of the american debate anyway) can't seem to find a middle ground. Clearly, there is no middle ground between the barbarians and us.

Yep, wouldn't miss Franklin for a fist full of yankee dollars! Patrick Cleburne is a bit of a hero of mine. I will be with the Texas-Brigade under Jack King. I believe we will be portraying Georgians.
