Hardtack and Havoc

A private of the 1st Texas Volunteer Infantry Civil War Reenactor with a day job in Uncle Sugar's Navy trapped in the unholy land of New England...I wish I was still in Iraq.

Movie Night

Finally got to go see Serenity tonight. I had wanted to see it on the 30th but the FY closeout kept me chained to my oar until well after the last showing. Then I had to finish up my rowing on Saturday followed immediately by a Cub Scout camp out. Busy weekend with no rest but at least I got to see the movie. Fox really screwed the pooch the way the presented and then cancelled Firefly. It was one of the best shows I had seen in a long time. Kinda like Outlaw Josey Wales in space. Post Civil War Reconstruction period western with a twist. It was by far the best movie I have seen in a long time! It was action packed and unpredictable. If it had a drawback I would say that it is the attempt to stuff too much story in a limited amount of time.

Speaking of Cub Scouts...Don't fergit to order you yummy good Cub Scout popcorn. Just go to www.orderpopcorn.com and type in code TE6T8F and buy all you can. Remember, if you eat lots of Cub Scout you will lose at least a pound a day!...provided you purge repeatedly after consuming.

I got a kick out of the fact that the good guys all had Southern accents.
