Careful What You Ask For

As most of you know I have some sort of mental disorder that compels me to volunteer for every fool adventure that comes down the line. Well not exactly true, I can't say "volunteer" more like an absence of crying "NO, NO, NO NOT ME! I DONNEWANNA GO!!! NOT ME! NO, NO, NO!" while scooching around in circles on the floor all the while flailing my arms and legs followed by holding my breath. Anyhoo, not five minutes after telling me that I was too valuable to the organization to be sent overseas they said belay that, this is your unofficial notification that YOUR GOING! Currently, waiting on the "official message" directing me to Afghanistan arriving at my first intermediate destination no later than the beginning of November. I can already tell that the predeployment process is gonna be fun cuz I went to dental on Friday to start my operational screening and they had LOST MY DENTAL RECORD! HA! Fourteen years of dental history down the drain, lets start again. The job in Afghanistan sounds like it is gonna be really interesting! My Bride was a little concerned 'bout it though. She says there are more people shooting at folks around those parts than in East Africa. Don't know 'bout that but I figure winter out there is gonna be cooler than the chilly 115 degree East African winter. The children took it pretty hard, particularly Chaos. My Bride is stoically bearing up but I get the feeling she would like to kick me in the nuts. No matter what, should be an adventure! As always, standing by to standby for the official word.

Just try and keep a warrior from being in the action. God be with you.

Our dental clinic is something else, aint it? I was there last week doing my transfer package, and they lost my record too. So then they started me on a new one, and half way through that, found my old one.

I can't wait to head out of here.
