Hardtack and Havoc

A private of the 1st Texas Volunteer Infantry Civil War Reenactor with a day job in Uncle Sugar's Navy trapped in the unholy land of New England...I wish I was still in Iraq.

Tedium

Today we learned that there is a strong possibility that our movement to theater will not occur until well after we have completed our Army training and have been “validated”. While no one is particularly anxious to go to the war zone, it would be a thousand times better than being here with nothing to do but stare at each other. I can’t even begin to express the trepidation that I have at the very thought. It brings to mind a storyline from “Malcolm In The Middle”. Francis and his cabin mates were snowed in their little Alaska lumber camp bunkhouse. They were so bored that the only way to keep their sanity was playing with a tiny piece of string. When one of them lost the string their baser instincts took over and the end result was one of the boys was about to be branded a “Thief” with a red hot coat hanger to the a$$. Well that is what it will be like if we are trapped here after validation. Only difference being that we have access to liquor and firearms. Bad things will happen.

TO THE TYRANT NEVER YIELD
