I’d Like Y’alls Opinions On A Subject!

Hi, this is Ed’s Bride I am just so irritated I am beside myself. I have tried to be positive about this but I do find it trying. Therefore I am going to approach this from a different angle with y’alls assistance. I have oft been told by acquaintances that I am just not in touch with the real world, ergo I will ask you folks (since I am not in the real world, all y’all must be) to comment back and we shall see what we see. Can’t trust the media bias on subject such as these…Well you pretty much can’t trust them on any subject…Oh well let’s get to it:
Please comment back to me on what you think the 1st Ammendment to the Constitution

Article [I.]
-- Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Actually means with respect to the separation of Church and State? Let’s look specifically at the first part today and then go on from there:

Congress shall not make no law respecting an established of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

Do you think this demands that Church and state shall not be allowed to co-exist and be totally separate, or does this amendment mean that the government cannot establish a mandatory religion and is forbidden from interfering with your, as a citizen, right to exercise your chosen religion at anytime?

I appreciate your comments, especially since I am so out of touch I must need your sage guidance to return to the plantation. I have some very strong opinions concerning this subject but I won’t express them and allow the readers a full rein. That doesn’t mean y’all are off the hook though. In a couple of weeks after all comers have had their say I will climb up on the soapbox. I guess we will tackle the freedom of speech part in the future and them move on to the other amendments. My husband says it is the duty of every American who cares about their Divine rights to read and understand the Constitution. I am sure he will get all fired up when I get to the Second Amendment. He keeps saying that as a Texan it is his God given right to drive as fast as he darn well pleases on a highway and do it heavily armed. Boys will be Boys…Unfortunately THEY WILL ALWAYS BE LITTLE BOYS! Whoops, did I write that out loud? Anywho, let’s see how this works out and maybe continue or maybe not. Maybe I can get your opinions on other subjects as well, but the freedom of Religion is weighing on my heart a great deal this season. Mankind is on my heart. Have a great day. Thanks!

The Yankee Problem In America

He y'all, go on over and read this article (provided by The Rebel Alliance and a fellow Southron trapped in this unholy land, Arklahomboy.) Don't agree on all the salient points but I do believe the thesis is sound. Before y'all discount that as just my irritation with (as my Bride would say "Your irrational prejudice against...") Yankee intransigence speaking, I am loath to admit my deep, dark, ugly secret...There are a fair amount of new england yankees in my woodpile. Uuuggghh, I feel so...Dirty. I'm gonna go take a shower.
